Career Achievements
Hamilton Sundstrand – Established a new test technician group dedicated to repair operations. Established training and integration of new test equipment and an ever expanding line of stand alone test and repair capacity. Worked with all departments to complete secondary power distribution test center move into new Phoenix facility.
MCI - Coordinated all aspects of communication systems initial installation and capacity growth for a new West Coast long distance terminal and central office switch facility. Directly involved in strategies to reduce the quantity of fiber equipment and streamline interconnections. Maintained seven long haul microwave radio sites.
Preferred Technical Services - Completed installation, programming, testing and turn-up of Preferred Networks, Northwest Regional, Technical Control Center.
Kitsap County 911 - Researched, proposed and implemented hardware and software changes to Kitsap County's 911 dispatch center's equipment to expand capacity, functionality and improve reliability. Documented custom designs with schematics and spreadsheets to facilitate maintenance.
Hamilton Sundstrand – Test Technician – 4/05 – Present
Provided production test and repair of commercial and military aircraft electrical generation and control equipment. Diagnosed problems down to the component level on a wide variety of aircraft equipment including secondary power distribution and weapons delivery. Worked with engineering on certification of new test process integration into the Pheonix facility.
Creative Communications - Radio Service Technician - 04/03 - 4/05
Repair and alignment of Motorola portable and mobile radios. Component level analog and digital troubleshooting and surface mount soldering under a microscope. Position also involves troubleshooting repair and software configuration of mobile data terminals for dispatch and law enforcement.
MCI - Telecommunications Terminal Operations - 01/98 - 12/02
Directly involved with the initial fiber optic equipment installation, interconnection and testing of the new Hillsboro Network Information Center. This facility carries the majority of the MCI WorldCom West Coast backbone traffic. I shared direct responsible for all traffic from DS0 to OC192-9.6 Gbps. Had daily interconnect experience, provisioning bandwidths extending from voice grade to international fiber backbones. Our site grew to include many rows of optical transmission mux & amp chains, five large digital cross connection switches, two long distance voice switches, a web server farm and a UUNET Internet backbone hub. Migrated to Wave Division Multicouplers (WDM's) and photonic booster amplifiers. Specialties also include digital cross connect switches and interstate fiber optic network troubleshooting and maintenance. Maintained all aspects of mountain top microwave sites, including radio transceivers, alarm, battery, power system and standby generators. Intranet web master for Pacific North Territory.
PNI Technologies - Communication Systems Technician - 02/97 - 01/98
Completed installation, programming, testing and turn up of Preferred Networks, Northwest Regional, Control Center and paging system. Installed and programmed high power paging transmitters with satellite receivers in building and mountain top sites throughout Washington and Oregon. Coordinated T-1 telephone trunk installation. Programmed Telelabs digital cross connect switching equipment. , Programmed, upgraded and Repaired a voice mail and paging terminals.

Maintained and upgraded a network of high powered satellite fed simulcast paging transmitters covering Washington and Oregon. Installed, programmed, repaired and upgraded paging terminals and satellite links.
Kitsap County Central Communications - Systems Technician - 03/92 - 06/96
Maintained, modified and installed communication equipment for this 911 dispatch center and at its remote sites. Position included radio base station, wide area network, facility maintenance, emergency power and transmission tower work. Equipment included; base stations and repeaters, complex antenna and voted receiver systems, microwave transceivers, multiplexers, and battery backup systems. Carried out hardware and software changes to custom, fault tolerant, dispatch consoles; insuring equipment remained on line with minimal disruption. Installed a wide area network of multiplexers and modems. Telephone system diagnostics included: CSU/DSU, private line, ring down, specialized alarm, multichannel voice recorders, and address identification equipment. Documented custom designs with schematics and spreadsheets to facilitate maintenance.

Provided full line portable, mobile and base station radio repair, alignment and programming. Equipment included VHF, UHF and trunked 800 megahertz systems. This component level work covered processors, receivers, transmitters, and audio systems. Custom jobs included the local 911 dispatch console installation and programming. Duties included UNIX and PC system administration.
