Career Achievements

Hamilton Sundstrand – Manufacture and repair power generation control and distribution electronics for commercial and military aircraft, working under FAA and military requirements, test, troubleshoot, repair and recertify equipment for flight.  Took a leadership role in training a new customer service technician team.

MCI - Maintained all aspects of mountain top microwave facilities, including microwave radio systems, HVAC, alarm, battery, standby generators and AC and DC power systems.  Coordinated communication systems initial installation, testing, turn up and capacity growth for a new West Coast long distance terminal and intranet hub facility.  Our site grew to thirty thousand sq. ft. of optical transmission, interconnect equipment, long distance switches, a web server farm and a major Internet backbone hub.  Directly involved in strategies to reduce the quantity equipment and streamline interconnections.

Kitsap County 911 - Facility maintenance at the center and mountain top locations included, emergency generators, inverters, UPS power, alarm and transmission tower work.  Implemented capacity expansion, and redesigns to improve functionality and improve reliability.  Responsible for communication equipment including, dispatch consoles, radios, recorders, security camera, and network equipment.  Documented custom designs to facilitate maintenance.

Preferred Technical Services - Completed installation, programming, testing and turn-up of this paging control center.  Performed extensive radio tower work installing antennas, feed lines and related hardware and grounding.

Facility Background

Fully versed in testing, oversight and operation of alarm, fire, camera, generator, battery bank, UPS and HVAC chiller plant systems. Troubleshot, fire alarms, sprinklers, door and climate controls.  Capable of metal fabrication using lathe, mill and welding.  Comfortable in wood frame construction and concrete work. 

Contractor Oversight

Led contractor job walks in the capacity of site owner.  Guided equipment installation and provided site equipment signoff authority for MCI.  As a former accident investigator, I can identify and mitigate hazards proactively.

Computer Maintenance / Engineering

·      Managed installation and turn-up of large commercial telecommunication computer and switching systems. 

·      Installed, programmed and optimized, fault tolerant, 911 dispatch consoles.

·      Maintained instrumentation and navigational computers on a wide range of military aircraft.

·      Provided transitional training and system administration for inventory and billing system.

·      Worked as factory level PC motherboard technical support, managed various databases and created animations.
